Thin Client Technology

Using Windows 2008, Thin Client technology or Terminal Services can drastically reduce your support costs.  As applications or desktops are all managed and provided by a central server or central farm of servers, desktop PC’s can be replaced with cheaper terminal PC’s that have no serviceable parts and use less power.  With this infrastructure in place if a terminal develops a fault, simply replace it with another, plug it into the network and start work again.  It really is that simple because the server provides the desktop not the PC.

Quadris provide lower cost support solutions for customers that want a low Thin Client TCO (Total Cost of Ownership). In addition to Windows 2008 we can also offer advice and guidance on using Citrix metaframe.

With all technology Thin Client can be configured many ways, so for advice or more information on how we can help, call or email us today.

Benefits

One of the key benefits of Thin Client technology is the level of support required. Because the server controls everything including the desktop the only real maintenance that is needed is of the server. This saves managment and engineer time onsite fixing PC's. As the terminals have no processing power, if they develop a fault it is more cost effective to throw them away. The user profile will be distributed by the server and the user will be up and running in a matter of minutes.

Additionally, because users can't store anything on their local terminal, by definition everything will be stored on the server and therefore backed up meaning important documents aren't lost if the PC crashes.
